Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, an American producer stage and screen actress best recognized for her roles in films in Ray Undercover Brother and on the television series The Mentalist. She received a BA from Brown University in African-American Studies. At the Tisch School of the Arts, New York University she obtained an MFA. Aunjanue is an American actress as well as a producer and director. She has worked in both film and television. Her stage debut was in the year 2000 and then appeared in mainstream, independent as well as television shows. Her most well-known role was Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico. In the following year, she made an appearance on BET's epic TV series The Book of Negroes. She made her professional debut in the role of Ariel as Ariel in The Tempest in 1995. On Broadway she's appeared in Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Seeking the Genesis and Joe Turner's Come and Gone. In terms of her film career the most recognizable roles she has played include Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express The Help. In her television work, she's received praise for her role in the role of a character who is a regular on ABC's cop drama High Incident.
