
Suzanne Pleshette was an American voice actress, actor, and film actor. She was alive from January 31, 1937 until January 19, 2008. Pleshette began her professional career in the theater, and appeared in films in the 1950s and later. Later, she appeared in notable films like Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (1963), or Spirited Away (192001). In later years, she was a part of various television productions and was frequently as a guest actor. She played Emily Hartley in The Bob Newhart Show from 1972 to 1978 and received a number of Emmy Award nominations. Pleshette was born on January 31 of 1937, in the New York City neighborhood of Brooklyn Heights, to Geraldine (nee Kaplan)[1 and Eugene Pleshette. Her parents were Jewish immigrants from Russia and Austria-Hungary. Her mother was a dancer, artist and choreographer who performed under the stage name Geraldine Rivers. Her father was a stage director at both the Paramount Theater and Paramount Theater in Manhattan.
